Elemental Weapons Are Glitched?
#21
Well, the elemental bonus data IS in the game right? So I think that rules out Nexon didn't not put on an elemental bonus.

well, I only checked one staff, but yeah, I saw all of it there : The main element boost, the secondary element boost, and the reduction on other elements.

I have a level 70 poison wand, and yeah, it doesn't work =/ Hopefully they'll be activated soon in a patch. They look really nice equipped.

Well, even only one still proves it's in the data, so that means that Nexon didn't purposefully nerf them >.>

I just realized the one I randomly looked at really is Elemental Staff 6. The thing is, it's not level 130. its' 163. There's not two items called "Elemental Staff 6" so... yeah, that could be an issue.

edit:
OP, did you mean Elemental Wand 6? cause that's totally different. XD

edit2:
Checked Elemental wand 6, it has 110%/125%/75% too.

I wonder why they had to number them, instead of giving us actual names. That just makes this all so much more confusing >.>

looks like my #2 theory was right after all. Taken from Nexon forums:

Quote:I am sorry for any confusion.

This is as intended, we did not mention that this item will ever have a elemental property. Please do not confuse MapleStory with another server as our items and features will not all be the same.

Thank you and happy Mapling. ^_^

Sincerely,

GM Lallent

No, they are purposefully trying to screw over LUCKLESS mages. if i read isaacs post correctly

Actually, the elementalless weapons screw over normal luk magicians even more than if they would have had elemental bonuses. If they would have had elemental bonuses, normal luk magicians could get a cheap level 103 staff or possibly a level 163 staff and still get the damage boost, while lukless magicians would have to shell out huge amounts of mesos for a level 130 wand, and possibly the level 70 wand. Now, the level 130 wand gives more magic attack than a dragon staff or doomsday staff, lol.

Also, I bought an elemental wand 7 yesterday (ice, level 130) and it doesn't work either.

Now I don't feel as bad about my mage being deleted.

So what's their excuse for the dumb names? Wand 1? 2? etc etc

Because things people say a GM said to them personally are entirely accurate.
Now, if it was a SCREENSHOT of this being said, I'd have a different attitude.

Now the million dollar question - what gives them their effect? Client or source. :x
(Well, for anyone that uses pServers at all ever.)

I feel sorry for all the people who spent hundreds of millions on these weapons thinking the lack of elemental boost was just a glitch...

Fiel has been saying all along the client's information for making these work is intact. I'd say it's been disabled in some other way, either intentionally or accidentally. My best guess would indicate it involves some sort of interaction on the serverside and they neglected to install that interaction into the server.
