I agree with Hazzy. The hackers however did not cause the way nexon has bungled the "compensation" or them saying they would only rollback those people who were part of the exploit. Nexon has royally stuffed up the way they have handled this.

If the hackers didnt cause the whole exploit we wouldnt be in this whole mess right now would we? Your talking about compensation for someone that happen because a public mesos exploit was relased.

Arguing aside, is anyone else having trouble actually getting online? I got online briefly, long enough to see I lost 17 levels on my new character, then I got booted. And now, when I get lucky enough to not freeze as I log on, it tells me that I'm already logged in or whatever. I think the compensation is crummy, and I think the situation is even worse, but at this point all I want is to be able to log on, take my meager 5k mp compensation, and take advantage of the x2 events.

Nexon responded to the hackers, but the hackers did not directly cause Nexon to royally pineapple up. There are millions of ways Nexon could have responded to this: Not all of them involved pineappleing over every active player.

If I punched you in the face, and you responded by beating me with a pipe, who caused the pipe beating? I didn't beat myself with the pipe, nor did I force you to do it. You beat me with the pipe by your own free will. Many different ways you could have reacted, but you chose that one. It was your fault. The metaphor carries to Nexon.

Hackers caused nexon to have to seek a solution. At no point did the hackers force anyone at nexon to decide that thousands of accounts to be rolled back that had absolutely nothing to do with what was going on. Nexon has screwed up its *solution* and that is their fault, blaming it on hackers just makes you look silly. It certainly isn't logical.

How does the rollback have nothing to do with what the hackers cause? So if nexon just would have taken out all the mesos from the ones that had fake mesos, what about the ones that lost their items? They could have done a individual rollback but lets think for a second how many people exploited this? How long do you think it would take to sift through each account individually? If it took them a whole day just to do everyone accounts imagine going one by one will take. Maple will still be down.

This is different because the law clearly states what will happen if you do it. Nexon never said "If a few trillion mesos are duped and flooded into the economy, we are going to ...."

If they did program the NPC to not accept negative values, it wouldn't have happened, but since the client tell the server what to do, hackers always will find those exploits.

=/ I don't see why you're still trying to defend Nexon. Sure, hackers caused this pomegranatestorm but Nexon responded poorly. They fixed the first exploit by removing the mesos and left innocent players alone. This time it looks like they were too lazy so they just decided to roll back everyone. I wasn't even on during this exploit yet I lost my Evan's critical ring.

Thats great if you live in the USA and the times arent between 5am - 11am or 3am - 3pm as they are for me.

To the people having issues getting on. I have logged in real soon after
the server check was over and went into CS to buy a 2x ticket with my maple points.

The balance is laggy it took a few minutes to get it to show up but it did, I bought it, and have been
training in peace since then. So it must not be everybody having trouble.
