if you mean simply hero NPC, i'd see aran more as "X" actually, and (as weird as it sounds) freud as zero, mainly because evan is the calculating type (plus dragon with elemental skills yadda yadda)
don't we all want the glory and fame? after all that's what drives the human race, survival, and on a personal level, "to be remembered" only difference is there's those who CAN'T and DON'T WANT to share the spotlight.

Now I'm not saying you, Shinku, would do this (okay, I'm lying in those first sentences - but only because your whole approach to Zero comes off as arrogant and self-entitled, the way I read it) - but why do WE, the Maplers, honestly need to throw ourselves into pre-written, pre-determined parts of the story?
wait, i'm confused, the world, or maple world? and what about me? i'm not sure what you're saying about me. (or my approach to zero) but if you check my visitor messages i say even paladins would be better zero's than arans (paladins are always the holy knight who fights for the others, plus elemental attacks)
so if you don't mind explaining in more detail?
Quote:That's kinda why I have mixed feelings about this whole Hero project - allowing anyone to play characters like Aran, Mercedes, Evan, Demon Slayer or even Jett and Phantom somehow gives the players this sense of feeling like THEY deserve to be the ones starring in the video clip sequences.
An MMO that allows you to play ENTIRELY as a living legend in the mainstream gameplay is very screwy - just because it makes singular existences really feel unimportant. Lord knows how many Mercedes or Demon Slayers we have in existence upon Maple.
i blame mostly the fact that there's little story between the heroes, you still have to grind, instead of getting into an inmersive story.
if anything, i see the "hero characters" as chapters of a book, you play them to learn how they lived and what they do in the present (in short, makes you aware of the story) and that's it. see how many issues i'm having with evan lore because i never trained an evan? kinda like that.
Quote:But what do I know, or even care, for that matter? I can't read the minds of both devs and players. Most I can do is just sit and watch humanity's own disgusting faults go at it. Not like I have any say in the matter.
what's with the sudden insane pessimism? o.o
