Your analogy doesn't work for that reason. Marijuana is almost universally frowned upon by society and the laws in place against it are actually enforced. Hacked weapons have been running around unpunished for so long that you can not fault players who cave in in the same way. A slightly better (but still bad) analogy is jay walking. It's illegal, because it can cause serious accidents/harm but that law is never enforced. Because of that, nobody frowns on jaywalking, and most people will jaywalk without giving a second thought because it's the norm.

I think the even better analogy is a Government run Liquor Store stocking and selling bootleg liquor knowingly for years and making a profit, then finally getting off their asses and eliminating all of it and offering no compensation.

It works on some levels, but not so well because Liquor is usually consumed readily and not stored for years, so only the recent buyers care. But I guess that still holds true, because anyone who purchased a weapon a year ago, probably got much more than their paid price in use out of it.

The slow take to action by Nexon is what is despicable, because allowing it to go on for so long in the MTS only profited them. I THINK that's the point LoveVictim wanted to get across?

Anyway, it's a good step in the right direction, if only it wasn't taken so late.
