Why the Secret Spell Scroll system would have never worked.

Private servers used javascript for NPCs, I guess they heard something vague along those lines.

Pretty sure the actual game uses something less flexible.

Yeah, my mistake, did a little research and it seems there is/was a private server written in Java. Point still stands though, he has no idea what he's talking about.
