GMS Server Status Discussion 2012-01

When i used to play maple, I knew a lot of people that would use the downtime to go out and buy the nx.

so they would not waste time going out while the game is up.

this may be true but these downtimes cause long term damage to their reputation and may cause people to quit in frustration etc.

anyway you can't really see people buying nx on each downtime in the past week

I think we can all agree the game being down is bad for both the Player Base and Nexon.

The thought that they may be upgrading their servers though makes me glad. I hope the roof gets raised a bit.

whoever said they were upgrading their servers? I thought that they were as usual just putting another bandaid over the hole


Yes the downtime is bad for Nexon as well. the point is, Nexon is offering a service - of their games. while the payment they receive is not directly related to how much game play, of course there is a correlation. if people get a less enjoyable experience they buy less NX.

They have been negligent in not using more of their money to fix up their servers, perhaps a bit greedy. but that's their business choice which they alone must make.

anyway many players are still very much addicted, and a bit of downtime here and there will not make them quit. but of course there is a limit to how much they can take. if the servers aren't fixed eventually everyone will quit.
