Just to clarify that I wasn't suggesting every hacker be hunted down and be prosecuted, that is ridiculous lol. My point was, for both posts, that even though this may take out a big head of the snake, unless they follow up on it in game, the damage is already done. Also the fear factor becomes a huge part of this as not only the distributors but the users might even become hesistant to risk this.

You misunderstood me.

I didn't say "Suing individuals for hacking is a losing battle" in an attempt to inform you of something that I believed you didn't know.
I assumed you knew it. That was the point.
Every rational player out there knows this.
So why you continue to say things like "the users might even become hesistant to risk this" is beyond me.
They know that the biggest threat they face is a ban.

Not that that matters hesitation will be a factor since most 'hackers' are simply using other people's code.
Once people stop updating the hacks, these people won't even have the option.

Despite all the jokes, Nexon actually does implement updates to block the offending programs, but, due to the structure of the game, it's only a matter of time before someone finds yet another bypass.
The point of this lawsuit is only to discourage/prevent someone from finding and sharing that bypass.

This is a Civil case, isn't it? Nexon vs whoever. Not criminal case of State vs whoever.
All you legal experts can correct me if I'm wrong, butt I'm pretty sure Nexon can't get people put in jail from a Civil case. They would have to convince the police to lay criminal charges.

Yes, it most definitely is a civil matter.

A civil case can become criminal if applicable, there are some "charges" that could escalate to that.
