Actually I think Duke3D the game itself wasn't that extreme good, the only thing it made it kick every game's ass that day were Duke's oneliners (onewords maybe? 
) and the music that came with it.
Especially the Duke Themesong kicked ass an it still does, since it has that "Eat shi`t and die!" sound in it somehow...
Btw, check out this dude, he mixed the original and megadeath's version together, it sounds really awesome:

If only 3D Realms finished the game for once...for real... :')
