Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword [SPOILERS]
They put a giant 25th anniversary logo at the beginning of the game. Skyward Sword is a celebration of every Zelda game that preceded it. Anyone who expected otherwise wasn't paying attention.

It's smart really, pair the biggest gameplay departure in the series since Ocarina of Time with a ton of nods to previous games - that cushions the blow best for those of us who were most concerned about motion controls.

As for the controls themselves... better than I expected. I don't think I'd prefer them ultimately to my good old gamecube controller. Ironically enough, you could probably pull off the majority of existing skyward sword gameplay by using a second analog stick for the sword cuts instead of motion controls. Still though, this is a better implementation than I expected and it doesn't get in the way.

Sarah Wrote:I'm certainly guilty of swinging too damn hard, especially when I'm getting into it, but that SHOULDN'T throw the game out of whack.
WHY DO THINGS NOT WORK WHEN I USE THEM IMPROPERLY?

I like that player fatigue or impatience translates into sloppy (ineffective) play, that's one thing you can't easily do with traditional controls as you gradually descend into lazy button rhythm.
