I see. So what mammals and birds do as soon as they are born/hatched is what? Reflex? As complex as getting up and following their mother? Learned behavior? From whom?
Or things like a kitten's tendency to play with things and chase them - even if you raise it in a human home and it's never seen cat's play?
Or the way certain dog breeds have a "personality"?
If you want to call all those things "reflex", that's fine by me. We'll just say animals have "reflexes" that result in seemingly-moral behavior.

*shrug* call it natural selection if you want. It's meaningless if it doesn't have mutations to work with, though. What made certain behaviors survive is both their appearance and the natural selection that kept them around and weeded away those that didn't behave that way.
