lol what kind of argument is that. The bible is filled with all kind of stories of events that people didn't understand. My point, which you all seem to be missing is evolution is not the sole reason for our mordern day society. It doesn't matter if the stories or not are true, religion was even important as a social experience, in fact today, majority of people use the church for that very reason.

....God is considered a vengeful spiteful person from the get go. I don't think you understand my point and you think I'm trying to defend the bible. The point of the bible, in my interpretation, which has been extremely manipulated, edited, what have you by man in power at the time, is that essentially whatever pimento you come across will get his fair share eventually.
It gave people something to fear if you happen to disregard any type of consideration to your fellow man, did that stop everyone? No, but that was the point I was making. It established written social normalities that are acceptable, and what are not. If you end up with a douchebag from jersey shore stealing your chickens, and he has more power than you for whatever reason, god will take care of it later. He will take out of his personal day to make that guy regret the day he thought he was impervious to repercussions. Kind of like how our local authorties do today.
This of course doesn't justify all the bull sh`it the bible did as a scapegoat for people behind the scenes, but that's was my overall point. Evolution itself can't define a social norm because the animal kingdom and humans can only relate so far. Survival of the fittest doesn't apply to us, its the survival of the smartest.
