Evolution created basic morality, not religion.

i would argue this. Ignoring that the theory of evolution mainly deals with biodiversity and not social conduct, some of our highest moral standards go against nature practice of natural selection. for example a common behavior found is cannibalism, to name a few: black widows, praying mantis, roaches, sharks, lions, hamsters. if we were all lead by the same morals standard to survive and propagate, the logical conduct would be to rape, murder, cannibalize, euthanasia, and follow polygamy.
