Americans don't want an atheist president

You need to calm down with this whole religion hatred thing. It's totally fine for them to believe whatever they want. People are going to kill others based on their beliefs regardless of what they are, religion isn't any exception. Just accept it and move on. Just do what I do, completely disregard anything in life that you don't agree with; makes things much more stress-free if you have a dissenting opinion from the majority.

I'd prefer if the President was athiest, then maybe I wouldn't have to worry about their policies coming from religious ideologies.

I would prefer the president to be good. Radical atheists have just as many bad ideas as religious fanatics do. If they were the majority, they would do the exact same things as religions have done throughout history in the name of the greater good. It's funny how mob mentality works; the more people that support something, the less sane their solutions become.
