Just going to add a point here (hopefully this isn't necro-ing..)
As I booted up my computer this morning, Microsoft detected and deleted a keylogger virus "EyeStye.N". I had no idea this was here (or why Microsoft only detected it just now), except for the fact my Norton kept deleting config.bin. After reading up on it on the Microsoft archives, it hides itself and creates files and such in various folders..
My account was hacked almost 1 month ago - I hadn't downloaded anything in the recent times before I was hacked. Not sure if this can relate at all, but I'm just putting my own case out there - I (possibly) got hacked because of a virus.
However, my account was hacked and left in the same way others were..
