How's the game?
Is it a 3D maple? :o
Complicated?
I don't have much time to play "complicated" games.. thats why I play Maple only or mostly.. its easy and im so used to it..
The overseas versions of Dragon Nest have a 'fatigue' system of sorts, while the NA version ditches it for an 'empowerment' system that gives us increased EXP from clearing your first few dungeons per day (while nerfing our drop rates to compensate for the unlimited runs per day, so). As such, the game wasn't really designed for hardcore 8+ hour sessions, and you can easily get by with an hour or two per day. I can juggle Maple and DN just fine.
The areas are split between these hub towns and instanced fields/dungeons. Questing provides the vast majority of your EXP (and the writing in this game is really exceptional, most of the NPC's so far are quite memorable). The current level cap is 24, which can be easily achieved within a week, if not even faster, although I'm not sure how long it may take the average person to get to 32 after the level cap raise.
Having good equipment is about as important in this game as it is in Maple, but the DN equipment system is far more balanced in comparison. For example, this game also has a potential system, but it doesn't have anything to do with the cash shop and it doesn't involve a risk of blowing up your equips (instead relying on items that are either dirt common or quite rare but still common enough that you'll likely find a few on your own). There are set probabilities that you will get certain potential effects as well, and almost every effect is useful to every class in some way, unlike Maple.
The Enhancement system is far more important though, as it's where you'll get the majority of your HP/MP and your physical/magic damage from. Enhancement is done through an NPC (with some consumption of these 'lustre' per enhancement attempt depending on the type of equip), and you can enhance an equip up to +15, with the success rates decreasing the higher you go (along with possible de-ranking as you go higher). Trying to enhance past +6 has a 25% chance to break your equip upon failure, although there's a cash shop item that prevents breaking (but it will not prevent de-ranking, so it'd only be worth using if you're trying to go past +10 or something).
Combat is quite skill-based, especially if you PvP, but the learning curve isn't steep or anything. There are huge differences between skill builds for each job though, as the 2nd job of each class usually ends up having completely opposite roles. For example, the Archer's 2nd job has you choose between a Sharpshooter (ranged specialist) or Acrobat (close combat specialist reliant on aerial combos - I actually would not be surprised if this was the inspiration for Mercedes).
