Apologies for thread necromancy.
I think it is useful to highlight differences between bossing and training as far as skill builds are concerned. Namely, Infinity can play a huge role at bosses with pot cooldown (VL, empress). Infinity has increasing returns to scale with each skillpoint following level 1, glacial chains has decreasing returns to scale. Last time I did math, max infinity came out to being a 10%~15% overall damage increase. One point in glacial chains and max infinity will be functional, and you'll recast glacial chains at least every 10 seconds to maintain the bonus for extreme magic. Conversely, max glacial chains and 1 infinity will mean near useless infinity and needing to recast glacial chains at least every 15 seconds to maintain extreme magic.
I'd max infinity first, after 1 point in glacial chains. Certainly for training, but also for bossing if you're expecting a fair amount of pot cooldown bossing.
