But I will enlighten you as to who the hard working people you're hurting are: it's every player that doesn't hack. The ones who are suddenly inadequate because they've taken the high road. Who's accomplishments no longer mean anything, and the money they've poured into making their weapons legitimately good no longer mean anything. It's all of the people who can't get in on boss runs because they're full of jackasses who won't accept them because their damage is "too low" or hell, just because the bosses are full because of the overproduced hacked weapons and everyone who has one is lined up to use it, screwing all of the legits from their rightful place at the front of the line. It's the legit merchants who can't sell their good equipment either in the FM nor the MTS because it's not good enough any longer. Nor can they sell their rare items because anyone who owns a hacked weapon is also farming for that pomegranate and driving the price down.
Yes, you're absolutely hurting other people.
I completely agree with you sarah, but you have to look at both sides of the fence here. I myself try to set an example when all possible, but at the same time, who's the real chump? If you want to be successful in maplestory, you either, dedicate insane amount of time into manipulating the markets, which some, would consider just a prettier way of saying "Im scamming the ignorant", or insane amounts of money. (250$ on average for a perfect weapon).
It was a game that was low on tolerating hackers, to the point where, because of the games easy accessibility, and nexons pretty much incompetent management, made it easy to manipulate the game for a shortcut. "Why should I invest time and money for something as silly as "personal pride", it nets me 2 grand a month! All because you as a player has to suck up to losing your false accomplishments, to someone like me? Get over it!"
And it's that attitude that killed the game, because in a sense it's true. People want power, and some have the money to have it, but none has the realistic resources, without cheating, to create it. So why not monopolize that market, all you're doing is providing resources to players who can get it, majority actually through legitimate ways (merchanting, although that is another argument in itself entirely). In a game like Maplestory, the rich will get richer, and even all the hacked equipment will eventually become obsolete at one point.
Although I don't necessarily condone it, however will whole heartily agree I myself am guilty of this, at a lower degree mind you, because of nexon's lack of involvement, you're just hurting your efficiency by not participating at one opportunity or another.
