Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you are saying, but why would the Allied Shinobi Forces try to kill Itachi? Even if they thought he was still under the Edo Tensei jutsu, he could probably avoid basically anyone while getting to Kabuto or could simply tell the general of that battalion that he is going after Kabuto. Depending on the next few chapters, if Naruto/Bee save Gaara's battalion from the x-Kages, Naruto could let Gaara know that Itachi is on their side, thus letting the rest of the Allied Forces know as well.

He wasn't talking about the Allied Shinobi Forces killing Itachi. He was talking about the Allied Shinobi Forces, Itachi, AND Naruto/Bee coming after Kabuto.

And I just thought about it. What's with Gaara's serious face? I would've thought that Gaara would have a shocked look on his face if it were Naruto.
