Don't think that the East coast has too many. They're not really near any real active fault lines and it's no where close to the plate boundary (reason why Cali gets lots of earthquakes). I mean the only super large earthquake before this was i think like an 8.0+ back in like the 1700s or something and that was in Missouri or somewhere.
