I'm not sure I follow your analogy. A radio drama is devoid of a visual component. Maplestory is not limited in that way.
Let me put it this way, I suppose. There are several main things that constitute well-designed content in my book (I will denote those Masteria fits the bill for):
-Well-written storyline [X]
-Good quest design (drop rates proportional to reward; monster spawn proportional to drop rates/amount of items needed to complete quest) [ ]
-Map design that isn't clunky [ ]
-Aesthetic artwork [X] (I'm giving it the benefit of a doubt)
-Reasonable EXP Rates [X]
Ideally, content should fit all of those. That isn't to say that the Korean content is perfect, though. Chryse only has aesthetic artwork. The entire area minus the artwork is an abomination to this game. I never plan on revisiting it. Ariant, on the other hand, among a few other areas that come to mind, have perfect scores. Now, if Nexon would polish up Masteria's maps and quest design, it would be great. Unfortunately, that hasn't happened yet.

Not only are they better than the "free" potions that you can make from Alchemy, you can buy massive amounts of them for maybe a little more than what you would pay for a worse potion. I can deal with not leveling at Masteria, but if i didn't have those potions or the CWKPQ, I'd still be stuck with a spiegelmann's necklace, melting cheeses, and red bean sundaes.
Jewelcrafting for your pendants. Or perhaps the one you can get from PvP. I will admit that I blindly submit to Nexon Korea, because I feel like they know what they are doing in terms of running the game. They must have a reason for not including potions that game-breaking.
