Their high force skills are strong. Demon Slash is the weakest 4th job skill in the game I believe.

The last hit does (90% * 1.8) 3 times at 4th job. 486% to 6 monsters at a decent speed is actually not that bad at all for 4th job, but it's still pretty weak since the first 3 hits are horrible.
