the dude did a private server, after he somehow did a success to hack the download files of KMS.
the guy is a high school student, so he's probably 17 years old. and the name of his user was "CoolKey" or "Coolk"/"Koolk" or something like that. [yeah, i think there's a possible chance that "Koolk" we know is the same guy]
well, the article is in hebrew.. so only ppl who know hebrew can read it. but i'm pretty sure that the guy is going to get sued by the korean nexon. yep.

Quote:Young Israeli Teen suspected in hacking of Maplestory gaming servers
The Israeli hacker, Grade 11 student, was arrested this morning due to the suspicion that he was hacking Maplestory servers and running an illegal game server, which lead to a great loss of money for Nexon.
A Grade 11 student was arrested this morning (Sunday) by the investigation unit in the Central District due to a rising suspicion of the teen being able to hack into Maplestory game servers. It is said that the teen was able to manipulate and emulate the Maplestory servers (owned by Nexon). As well, it is said that the teen did spread information and codes that belong to Nexon. [Translation Note: This refers to unpacking/repacking imo].
In his investigation, the teen admitted to the crime, and explained that he did it in order to gain "respect" from fellow internet users. The teen was arrested after a three month investigation lead by Yoram Salkman.
During the month of July, a lawsuit was presented by lawyer representatives of Nexon, a Korean company, in Israel. The company noticed that a user who goes by the name "KoolK/CoolKey/etc" hacked into the software provided free of charge by the company. This was done by decrypting the security methods and algorithms, as well as server connection methods. The hacker opened a "private server", which users were able to connect to by using the hacked software. He swayed users who were supposed to connect to the real server, into his server.
-Insert explanation of Maplestory- ... It is suspected that the teen offered the same paid services (Cash Shop) that Nexon offers, for free. This resulted in a loss of revenue for the company.
The specific teen even distributed the hacked program in several online forums, thus increasing revenue loss for Nexon, and even increased the chance of virus infestation for the users who are using the hacked software. (Translation note: wtp?). For a number of weeks, the teen was able to escape the investigators, who ended up talking to some innocent people along the way.
During the search conducted by the unit, there were computers and computer hardware/software found which leads the investigators to believe that this suspect is guilty.
