If they added a pirate group, it would have to be some rouge squadron that did guerilla tactics to all of the 4 originals. They'd be the mystical "sea peoples" that would randomly appear every now and then. It could work. Just have it appear in random PQs at random times during the PQ, then have the text "The Sea Pirate captain's ghost has appeared! Defeat him to advance!" Though that would be more annoying than anything.
