I'm using a 100%'d lvl 77 Maple Crossbow at lvl 159. :3Yes, I loved never being able to boss without HP washing because I picked the wrong class. Gotta love archers getting OHKO'd by 90% of things.
It's sad yet amazing being able to solo Pap. I still freak out when I see bombs. Hell, I still use ice shot at Zakum mobs since that's all I remember doing. Weeee.
A big part of why I prefer RPGs to sandbox-type games is that I like sitting through a storyline and a defined system of progression rather than just experimenting. Some degree of open-endedness is good, but not too much.
What is there to do gameplay-wise besides get better gear? Maple's storyline is almost nonexistent, the grind is ridiculous, hunting for rare items is worse because you at least with grinding you have a progress bar, and a new area or boss comes out like once a year at best. Nexon relies extremely heavily on people wanting to get better gear and people who can be entertained by the release of new classes to keep this game going. I played one character at a time and I didn't care that much about gear, and I was always bored out of my mind.
