The game might be easier, unchallenging or whatever for some of you who have reached the peak of economic stability and considerable power. But for me at least as a casual player, the game has gotten more interesting and "rewarding"
There are more feasible ways to upgrade equipment than to hunt for illusive scrolls or pay ridiculous amounts of cash for them or for an already scrolled item. Now you can actually hunt for your equips and work for getting whatever stats you need/feel like getting (and it's actually possible to get satisfiable results!). BB added diversity of training spots and made leveling less of an omgIjustleveledafterfivehoursbutnowineedtostartoveragain chore. Now it feels like it's actually possible to reach the higher levels at a pleasant pace, it feels like you are going ~somewhere~.
And now the profession system will add yet another much needed set of goals and variety.
Really, there are only a few things I find disappointing nowadays. For instance, the massive nerf of the bosses and the "higher" level mobs (including CWK, which was just thrilling pre-BB). Making the stats of monster the same for every level range did take out some of the charm as well.
The FM economy is also a disaster. But eh. I guess you can make it a goal to hoard enough money to buy a 250mill 10 atk work glove.
Community has more or less always been the same. It's just that as the population grows, so does the odds of finding a-holes, braggers or whatever (A-holes in the internet, not a miracle). Community doesn't have much of an effect on me though, as I am a lone-wolf type of player anyway.
Overall though, I think the game has gotten better. I think some of you just need a fresh start and to put less focus on getting stronger as fast as possible or whatever it is you focus on. Really, there's still fun to be had in the game, it's just a matter of changing perspective for a bit.
Also, I don't miss playing for 5 minutes -> wait half an hour for HP and MP to recover.
I don't miss "Yey I got to level 30 after a year! Now I can use more slash blast until level 70 after two years, and then I can use more slash blast until 120 after an eternity."
I don't miss having to train in a very restricted number of mobs in order to get a halfway decent experience gain. And I don't miss the massive KS parties that used to form in those places either.
