That would actually make sense, given how fast leveling is now and how overpowered characters are compared to monsters.
Nobody bothers to replace weapons often, or do more than the most rudimentary scrolling on anything but their "end-game" weapons, because why bother when you can 1-hit anything with a random weapon you just picked up, and you're going to be 10 levels higher tomorrow anyway?
