I want to add to this by saying just how illogical it is to argue that reloading and/or arming the weapons would be too difficult, as Gunslingers can shoot 2-8.3 bullets out a FLINTLOCK pistol each second. In case anyone was wondering, flintlock pistols and rifles need to be reloaded after each bullet is fired, and reloading requires the gunman to manually fill the barrel with the bullet and gunpowder as well as pack the round into the barrel with special tool so that the powder can be properly ignited. With real life physics a flintlock pistol takes approximately 15 seconds or more to reload after the first shot is fired.
Even though having two crossbow/gun mixes, or even just having one crossbow/gun mix would be impractical for real life battle, this game will never rely on what real life dictates is within the realm of possibility. If it really bugs anyone that much, then I suggest that they just pretend the weapons pull their strings back automatically and the chambers have miniature summoning rocks to instantly place arrows within them.
