Ascertaining ordinality is possible, you just require very specific language and doesn't have a necessarily uniform phrasing.

I don't know whether it's just me, but most of those fall into the unnecessarily ridiculous group. Either way, I was just thinking I went crazy and could not pin a word on that concept. Glad to know there's no direct approach to it.
