using pp as a finisher or initial hit is hardly plausible, because the fact of the matter is any hit with another skill just does way more damage. the damage from the pp as an initial hit or finisher is such a bare minimum its hard to even consider. this does not render meso explosion useless as you tried to cover in your argument because the main use of meso explosion was for bossing, not for training. your initial understanding of my "goofing off" phrase is a bit flawed, as i was speaking more in terms of training at a lower leveled area with friends, hunting for drops, etc rather than walk around killing snails and using chakra.
the lack of usefulness from pp is hard to witness, unless first hand. ask any shadower if they use it after 4th job and their answer will be no. in fact most shadowers dont even have it on their keyboard.

I'm not really sure what you mean by most shadowers dont even have PP on their key board, because only 1 person in this thread didnt have PP on their key board. One of them didnt have chakra.
BOT will not outdmg mesos bomb until later on during ur 4th job life. Sure we can use mesos bomb at bosses, but when was the last time you saw anyone use mesos bomb at a boss?? My HTs squad's first run, we tried to bomb the tail to quickly get it out of the way, but it ended up backfiring on us because we brought to many shadowers and not enough BMs/NLs.
Like i said before, It will take over 4k range to outdamage a concentrated PP + mesos bomb attack, which you will not have until 13x. Up until then, PP + bomb is the way to go.
If you want to spend an extra 27 skill points to save pots at low lvl monsters (which probably dont do much dmg anyways since they're low lvl), then by all means go for it.
