Most of the time it's cheaper to buy a spot on a Zrun than to buy a karma'd helmet. A lot cheaper.

It's not like it's hard to survive (dunno if new def formula actually does make it hard to survive there now). If I was making a new character and had a choice to buy a karma'd helm or pay significatly less to sit there for 5 minutes and spam my pot button, I'd certainly pick the former.
