I'd say they're equally useless.
The only use I can see for Grenade is luring monsters, which is rather inefficient, as it would be much easier to recoil over.
Grenade is useful for luring, but the thing about it is that it will convey more damage in a shorter time, and can be fired while walking over to the monsters. So, it lures them to you, at no cost to your own movement speed, WHILE causing a burn with a very good damage formula.
