No, but we do tend to stay in touch and remain connected to them.
That's the reason most people ultimately believe in a religion, not necessarily for the specifics, but for wanting to believe in something and to be connected to something.
Everyone knows their parents may not be the best, and they may not get along with them perfectly or understand them explicitly, but they're yours and most people appreciate having a parent-figure of some kind over the alternative of being orphaned.
