Then I don't understand what needs discussion. Why do people believe in God? There's no logical reason to do so.

Faith there is more than a modernized "work now, retire later, live 20 years of my life in my own accord as my body clunks out", which in todays age, a lot of people don't even experience that. Faith there is possibly a higher justice, for those who got away with their wrongs, and a faith that someone will forgive them. We are the only creature in the world that looks up to a higher power, for answers, everything else lives off instinct, but their worlds are a lot more rash and chaotic than ours. We have a control, I can't justify religion, I can give reason's for it's existance, but I can't tell you it was the best thing to ever happen to man. What I can tell you that it was one of the key factors of holding a civilation together and allowing us to evolve pass the ignorance of "He's the answer to everything" which I chuckle, is an irony in itself.

If he's not the answer to everything then what is he? People treat him as the answer to everything. Sin as much as you want, you can deus ex machina your way out of hell by asking God for forgiveness.

Maybe religion did help us evolve. Maybe it did hold civilizations together. Thank you for that religion, but haven't we as a human race gone past that stage? If I think of religion as a parent that teaches me right from wrong as I grow up, doesn't that mean that later on in life (humankind) as I mature I don't need my parent (religion) any more, and I should be able to function by myself?
