That's utterly unnecessary. When I worked for Yahoo! Vietnam to monitor the front page content of this one site, I was given full controls of the front page layouts. They simply fed me content, I modified, published, and front-paged as ordered/scheduled. Most modules on the front page normally don't change, and those that change only change in copypasta content. Updating takes at most a minute, specilizing a group, however small, for that single task is beyond wasteful.
