Terrorism threat in Europe

Before we all get the facts wrong, the Dutch ultra right wing politician Geert Wilders is prosecuted because of the following statements by him:

- "The tsunami of a for us unknown culture, that becomes more dominant every day. That will have to be stopped."

- "The Koran promotes hate and murder, that's why it doesn't fit in our society. If Muslims want to participate in our society, they have to reject the Koran. I can see that this asks a lot from them, but we have to stop making concessions."

- "Is there a connection between Islam and Criminality? Absolutely, the numbers show it. One of every five Moroccan young adults is registered as suspect in the police records. Their behavior is connected to their religion and culture. You can't see those two separately. The pope was right with his comment: Islam is a violent religion."

- "It are facts. Islam is a violent religion. If Mohammed lived here today, this Parliament would immediately agree to tar him and deport him out of this country."

- "The Koran is the Mein Kampf of a religion that seeks to eliminate others, these others - non Muslims - called infidel dogs, inferior beings. Read the Koran, that Mein Kampf, again. No matter what version, you shall see that all evil that the sons of Allah spread to us and themselves, can be traced back from that book."

- "The core of the problem is the fascistic Islam, the sick ideology from Allah and Mohammed, as written in the Islamic Mein Kampf: The Koran."

- "Everyone shall fit themselves to our dominant culture. Those who don't, won't be here in twenty years. They will be deported out of The Netherlands."

- "These Moroccan boys are really violent. They beat up people because of their sexual orientation. I have never used violence myself."

- "I have good intentions. We're allowing something to happen, what will change our society as a whole. I know myself that in a few decades there won't be an Islamic majority. But it is growing. With aggressive elements, imperialism. Walk trough the streets and see where it leads to. You feel you don't live in your own country anymore. There is an ongoing battle and we have to defend ourselves. There will be more Mosques then Churches in the near future!"

Now the problem with Wilders is that he can make it sound like that all the problems in a country (The Netherlands in this case) are caused by the Islam, ignoring that there are -way- more other important problems in a country that need more attention (poverty / government finances / etc). What he does is make and elephant out of a mosquito (that's a dutch expression, but I think you people know what it means).

And by blowing the problem out of proportions, Wilders insults and degrades a large portion (10% of the population of The Netherlands which are Muslim, but haven't done anything wrong. The result is that these innocent people who haven't done anything wrong will be treated as second grade citizens, creating a new "Untermensch", the same way Hitler did with Jews when he tried to take power in Germany in the 1930's. Blaming them for everything that was wrong in society, and deporting them out of that same society.

Wilders is just the biggest attention wh0re in politics in Western Europe today, all he lives for is getting more power, no matter what, even if it means insulting, trolling and spitting on large innocent groups in society who in majority haven't done anything wrong... He's just a sad person, deceiving people who vote for him, with the false promise that he alone, can and will save The Netherlands from an imaginary evil enemy.

Today was the first day of the Wilders trial, and it will continue tomorrow... Geert Wilders claims he has the right to publicly state these opinions, because of the right of freedom of expression, even if he insults others with it... He demands a -complete- fundamental freedom of expression, so everyone can say -anything- about others in public, without any consequences.

I would say that a complete fundamental freedom of expression is not the right way to go in a democratic peaceful country like The Netherlands always was...

The funniest part is that The Netherlands is one of the countries with the fewest crime in the world, we even have so low crime rates that we sell some of our jails for Belgium criminals to be put in, because we have too few criminals here to put them all in jail... :+)
