Just to pitch in, there are an astounding number of resources on the internet that came up during the last decade. Take for instance the National Center for Biotechnology Institute (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/) website. I can fundamentally use this website to obtain nucleotide and protein information off of any organism. For a test-run I put in Ecoli and the first hit was an E.coli strain H4h plasmid sequence which can be obtained here (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nuccore/2295...port=fasta). The immense irony is that the probability of learning of such given resources would be incredibly low if I did not learn about it in college.
It seems that the opinion is of vastly singular voice. If anyone has similar sentiments, then please feel free to also pitch in, even if it's only a yes/no statement. I wanted to kind of double this up as a poll in regards to it also serving as a social topic. NOW I WILL STUDY and it will be GLORIOUS.
