Afaik, in P3P, Catherine's main character says he really hates his wife, and that he's a jerk, etc, etc, and that he'd really want a new life. After that he apologizes for unloading on you and doesn't talk anymore. I guess something paranormal happens to him afterwards.
And I think this isn't the Persona 3 universe. My guess is that Atlus just put it there to see who'd connect the dots.
