My problem with Rick's infraction is that it overrides two clear-cut rules and his only real justification for it is "discretion",
which isn't really a rule.

In any case, the instructions I left on Rick's user messages were precise.

a) Rick is not the only moderator. Most moderation efforts are done by consensus, particularly in the cases of discretion which require multiple approvals, and any moderation you disagree with should've been brought to Mira, not your personal friend on the mod team. He is not your liason to us and expecting him to be so is putting an undue burden on an alleged friend.
b) Rick has no ability to coerce me towards favors for you, and we do not, nor ever will, delete users because they don't want to be here any more. If you don't have the will power to not login that's your choice. Change your password to something you don't know and lock yourself out, we're not your babysitter. Removal is a punishment, not a reward, and you don't get to pick and choose the terms of it.

Moderator departures/step downs are traditional exceptions. This one just contains more melodrama than usual.
