If you'd have to go for an addiction, weed is probably the least harmful out of the most well-known (drugs-alcohol-tabaco-cafeine abuse).
However this in no way advocates for using any, as it is still an unhealthy and expensive way of achieving what you could also achieve when sober: happieness and carelessness.
I had a co-worker about a year ago who had been smoking several joints daily for about the past 35 years. He was seriously slow, borderline sluggish. Everything you'd say, you'd have to repeat 4 times, since he just didn't get it. Even the simplest of things. This while he did get a bachelors degree in accounting when he was in his early 20s, so he clearly did have potential. He just really messed it up killing all his braincells and even ended up losing the job, 'cause he just couldn't keep up.
Having fun is fine, but damaging or jeopardising your health is srs bsns. I drink maybe once a month, never smoked or done drugs. If you're desperate for social acceptance and cave for peer pressure, stick to low dosis of whatever you do. I think doing weed would be fun, I truly do, I just don't even concider it because my health means more to me than an evening of fun I probably won't remember with people who won't remember it too well either.
