So you have not found your reason to play? THen dont, the ones who have, still play.
Whether it is to get to 200 and quit, or to play with your friends, perhaps new skills really rock your boat? Merchanting is a game within it self in maple to some, and some people just love skill systems, and unlocking new skills.
