People want to do those type of high enders, but your worry is already a problem. People do elimiate others by classes. The fact there is an oversaturation of classes, and that the balance in GMS' current state is complete bullshit. Some classes overlap others, and the uniqueness between one another is not great at all. So they'll pick the top DPM class, maybe use two support classes as mules, and scrap the rest.
As for limitations of content within a game... that's strictly on the designers. Game design is about using your immatination. In MMOs, it's also suppose to make ideas and things to keep us going. So if they can't think of much to add, the game is pretty much screwed.
