By "you" I kinda meant the western media in general, not the OP, sorry for the confusion.
But either way, it's not "Poisoning the well" even if it's to the person. Simply pointing out the contradictions in a person's statement, is not considered as "attacking the person" It only means either the person's first statement is wrong, or the 2nd statement or both.
