Well note that I haven't played for a long time now and I stopped at level 48 (my habit, not a game problem). I haven't being taking note of recent changes and what not, so I may not be accurate.
The first few 20 to 30 levels are easy. Especially if you take part in Kingdom Quests, which have rounds for every 2 hours and are uber fun (for me, and when without stupid people). I didn't find the game grindy, but then again, I KQ and quest my way up. Solo-ing in Fiesta is possible but it's either slow or potion consuming, for the most part. Partying is easier because of each character class's roles actually work for when grinding, which isn't the same for maple. The beginning level mobs are indifferent to your existence until you attack them, other mobs chase you if you come into their range and they spot you unless your level is higher than them. Getting chase all over the place is kind of fun, lol.
HP and SP are healed by consuming Stones or Potions. Stones can be replenished with NPC, with the cost increasing for each (few?) level, pots can be bought or made by yourself. And they have cool down, so you can't eat another HP stone after you ate one, but you can eat a HP pot or SP stuff. Fiesta's skills aren't exactly spammable, because they (most of them?) have cooldown, even though some are very short. You have to purchase skills from NPC to learn them (for lower level, not sure about higher), and points are used for augmenting your skills, like faster cooldown, more damage, higher % change of taking effect, etc. That makes a more interesting gameplay than maple. The AOE skills that mages and archers get are not spam friendly for mobs you train on, because unless you can tank the damage of multiple mobs or you are certain your tanks has or will have a firm aggro on the mobs (they have skills Taunt and Mock to aggro the mobs), you will die, lol. Archer actually has a skill to reduce aggro.
Vending items don't require cash, unless you want more vending slots. I can't really say much about the economy and earning money because I'm a packrat type and I store things, so I become poor often (after buying skills, usually) while having mountains of stuff in my storage. I can't say much about the balance of the classes and effect of the cash items on the players either, because I haven't been playing. There are PVP zone and guild wars for the fight friendly people, which maple doesn't have. Helps for some stupid conflicts between people I guess.
Now I feel like playing Fiesta again. ;_;
