its not really justified when it shouldn't be happening in the first place. but yeah, it's alot better than them leaving it, or just kicking everyone off randomly to do maintenance and THEN putting up a notice about it.
atleast they notified everyone they acknowledge a problem with their upgrades and are trying to fix it.
