I love competitive battling in Pokemon.
@Claw: The problem with Crits in Pokemon is that you can seriously abuse the hell out of it. Regular moves have a base critical (level 1) chance of 6.25%, high crit moves add one level of critical. Focus Energy adds two levels of critical while the items Razor Claw, Scope Lens, and Super Luck add one level of critical. Stick for Farfetch'd and Lucky Punch for Chansey/Blissey add two levels of critical.
With all the combinations and stuff you can get a max critical level of 5, which has a 50% chance. On top of that, critical hits ignore the defender's +[Sp.] Defense modifiers and the attacker's -[Sp.] Attack modifiers.
