At least I understood the rest of it better than I thought I would on the spot.
I don't plan to use it in real life because I've nowhere to really use it. I don't go outside or anything. The most use I'd find for it is on the internet. I already read Japanese blogs to the best of my ability, so I may join in commenting some every now and then.
So far I haven't really gotten bored of it. Mostly because there's a lot of crap I wanna read and listen to that are just in Japanese. I'm learning Japanese just for my own personal hobbies. I've no plans on moving to Japan or translating in real life or anything.
