I think you both forget that Nexon gets their money when NX is bought, not when it is spent.
So, now an AP reset sale is announced (or allowed to be leaked, if you will). Every hp-washer runs to the nearest store and buys hundreds of dollars' worth of Nexon Game Cards, intending to stock up on scores or hundreds of AP resets.
Then the sale comes, and he manages to get 1, or 2, or maybe even 10, before they run out. Doesn't matter to Nexon, his money is already in their pockets.
Now, what's going to happen? Either he will use his NX to buy AP resets at full price, or he will waste it on something else (a 2x here, a gachapon there). One may be certain he will not be able to save it until the next AP reset sale. Very few maplers can exercise that kind of restraint. So, before the next sale, he will again give nexon plenty of $$$...
Excellent cycle, from their point of view. Why break it by offering unlimited amounts of AP resets and actually letting people stock up on them?
The problem with that, is that people don't charge much when they know that the quantity is limited.
EX1: AP resets go on sale on Friday, but only 1000 will be sold. I know I won't be fast enough to get tons, so I only charge $10
EX2: AP resets go on sale on Friday, and will be unlimited all day. I know that I won't have to worry about others buying them from under me, so I will be more than willing to charge $30+. Not only that, but if I buy those $30 worth and realize I still want MORE, I can quickly charge again, and buy more before the sale is over.
