If people want nx, they have three options: purchasing, mts, or meso exchange. If MTS becomes a less viable method, people stop using it, as evidenced by the experiences of those in this thread. Whether this actually makes more people go out and buy NX, I don't know, but it certainly doesn't help the people who don't buy it in the first place.
Don't forget, a bulk of nx probably goes toward clothes, 2x, CS items, so that NX is thrown into a money dump, not MTS. Unless there's more people than I think that do straight NX purchases in MTS.
