The end of the universe itself?

Many scientifics have said that this project could lead to many catastrophes such as, a black hole that could eat up the whole earth, or universe as we know it. Yet, the other side of the scientifics that support the project, say that even if we get eaten by a blackhole, we won't feel a thing.

It was specifically stated that if a black hole were to be created, something extremely unlikely in itself, it would last for an extremely short amount of time and it would destroy itself. The chance of a black hole forming from this machine that is capable of destroying the Earth is almost nonexistent.
