Actually, it is...if a person has an STD and neglects to tell you before having consensual sex, they can be sued for it. It's very much so illegal.

I agree, deliberately infecting someone with AIDS should be harshly punished. But the people most at risk for VDs are people who sleep around and/or don't use condoms. (Having worked at a medical clinic, I can assure you, there's a ton of idiots who don't use condoms.)

While it is illegal, how do you go about proving it? How does a person prove that their partner failed to disclose their contagion with an STD before sex? I understand it sounds insane, but it's possible someone might want to sleep with an infected person, relying on protection. How does a person prove that their partner KNEW about him or herself having the STD before having sex? Finally, how does the person prove that they got the STD from the partner in question rather than someone else?
